a
Once again I am delighted to give this AGM Report on behalf of Tintern Angiddy Project Ltd.
2008 has been a very busy and active year with many tasks and deadlines to meet.
The Archaeological Survey along the full length of the Project route has now been completed by Dr Neil Phillips. Test Pits have been dug and findings recorded. All these reports and photographic evidence have now been given to CADW, Historic Environment Service dept, Gwent Glamorgan Archaeological Trust (GGAT) and Monmouthshire County Council Planning Dept. TAP has supplied, met and exceeded all requirements to show the community it is committed to achieving a harmonious project to this area.
Environmental Surveys during the summer of 2008 needed more wellies and umbrellas than a normal winter! Needless to say all reports required for Environmental consent were methodically and professionally undertaken. Crayfish, Invertebrates, Dormice, Bats, Water Voles, animals all explored and mitigation statements given where required. A big thank you to Leyton Williams-Davies' Survey Ecologist of Torfan County Borough Council, Gwent Wildlife Trust and Wye Valley Surveys- to name a few.
HydroGeneration, the specialist company engaged by TAP have processed all the data provided. Flow Charts, measurements and design all support the viability of this Micro Hydro Scheme that TAP wish to achieve for the community of Tintern.
The groundwork for this ambitious Hydro Project could not have been achieved without the exceptional support and determination of the other three Directors of TAP. Collectively we have exceeded all public and statutory body requests. Many of TAP reports and data provided are now being used to confirm, update and improve records already kept by statutory departments.
Thank you to Phil Powell, our Technical Director, for another exciting year of meetings, phone calls and emails to keep us on track.
Thank you also to Morris Jones, our Finance Director, once again keeping a steady hand on our finances. The continued effort of sourcing grants and funds and keeping us within budget - well just! Axis 3 Rural Development Plan for Wales this coming financial year will be a real grant challenge - best of luck Morris.
TAP's Marketing & Publicity Director, Norman Williams has gone well beyond his title. Thank you, Norman for all arrangements and meetings that fell your way. In particular, the continued water flow measurements three times a week for the last 12 months, TAP's website information and site visits with official officers - all in the course of duty.
Another big thank you goes to all members of TAP and residents of Tintern. The kind words of support and increasing offers of help towards this Community Project will one day bear fruit and pave the way for I'm sure, other ambitious projects of Tintern community.
Finally and on behalf of all the Directors of TAP a very big thank you to our wives who have endured our endless tasks, site visits and countless meetings during this very busy past year.
