Again I am delighted to give this AGM Report as Chairman on behalf of Tintern Angiddy Project.
2010 has brought another challenging year of further tasks and reports to completion. So much has now been achieved collectively by TAP Directors in all areas, such as Ecological & Biodiversity reports, Environmental surveys, Archaeological surveys, Highways and Structure reports Ð the list seems never ending! The recent Arboriculture report allowed TAP to work closely with the Forestry Commission and land owner to clear along the Penstock (pipe) route.
The Beaufort Dam structure report was completed by Monmouthshire Council and finalised all TAP's Highways reports.
Besides the progress of achievements made there have been times of frustration along the way. Reports and surveys forwarded or even simple requests often took arduous lengths of time to be sanctioned or replied to by some statutory department.
Now our attention turns to major funding towards the project. All avenues will be explored to support this Community initiative and fulfil our intended working scheme in turn supporting future village community needs.
My personal thanks go again to the 3 Directors Ð Morris Jones (TAP's Finance Director), Norman Williams (TAP's Marketing and Publicity Director) and Phil Powell (TAP's Technical Director) for their continued loyalty in this total voluntary venture. Tintern residents and community groups have again been so supportive this past year. More offers of help and equipment have been recieved; we will gratefully take you up on these offers when the time comes!
Finally and on behalf of all Directors of TAP another big thank you to our wives. This being our 5th year your patience has been well and truly tested; although I am personally getting used to the phrase 'your dinner's in the dog' - well the dog's happy!
