Project Update

Assessing the potential impact on the archaeology in the valley is now the main focus of the team activities. Advice and guidance has been given by GGAT for the survey work that needs to be carried out. Little is known about the structure of the leat below the Beaufort dam and the project provides an opportunity to investigate and record it. In order to facilitate this it is planned to engage a local archaeologist to dig a number of trial pits along the route. It is hoped that this work can start towards the end of September.

Following the heavy rainfall over the last few weeks the flow rate in the Angiddy is much higher than expected at this time of year. For several weeks in August the project would have been running at maximum output. In an average summer, August would be a month of little or no output.
