TAP News November 2008
Project Update
The archaeological discussions have finally been resolved with an agreement to dig 4 small trial pits in the leats that TAP propose to use. The first 2 will be commenced in early November. The results of these digs will enable GGAT to make a decision as to whether or not TAP will be allowed to install the pipe along the line of the leat.
The remaining surveys required by the Environment Agency have been completed during October. They are the aquatic invertebrates survey, the crayfish survey and the water vole survey. Reports of the findings will be issued in November.
It is now more than 12 months since TAP started measuring water flow rates. Apart from occasional days in June, July and August, the flow rate has been consistently above the minimum likely to be specified by the Environment Agency. Regular measurements will continue and will be posted on the web page.
